Representatives from all Northern Ireland Healthcare Trusts , The Patient Safety Forum an all Island body and a number of Hospital and HSE representatives meet 3 to 4 times per year since 2011 for facilitated discussions on a variety of topics.
They use this forum to discuss and share their experiences and difficulties over a wide range of topics. Our meetings have led to very open and frank discussions in the sessions themselves along with more focussed 1:1 visits to discuss specific areas of interest between members. The group has also looked outside their sector with site visits and presentation of exemplar stories from private sector organisations including Caterpillar (Employee Engagement) and Invista (Embedding Safety Management)
Topics covered in recent meetings include:
A review and comparison of Change Management Models in use in Healthcare in Ireland.
A detailed look at how Caterpilar manage Employee Engagement with an audience of clinicians and medical director who were interested in Clinician Engagement in Continuous Improvement.
A Study Visit to Invista’s Maydown plant to look at their Award Winning Safety Management Programme.
Comparison of Employee Performance Management methodologies.
